Hi Guys (and Gals),

I'm about to move from Belgium to Orange County in December, and i'd like to know a bit about the legal situation. As you may know, Prostitution is legal in Belgium but not in California, but what exactly counts as prostitusion? I'm not looking for sex, I'm looking for MPs with a good massage and then a HJ to finish things off.

Could that get me into trouble? As a foreigner I want to be really careful not to get into any unnecessary trouble with the law, but I don't know is a Handjob already counts. What about a Blowjob?

As said, not interested in Sex, only in massage + finisher.

A typical massage parlor here in the states, requires all the girls to be liscensed. Most of the places display these documents in their lobby's. Depending on the part of town you go to can determine if the girls at these places provide "HJ (hand jobs), BJ (blowjobs) and FS (full service). There may be limits on how much service management will allow.">extras". Here in the OC, there have been major crackdowns in the MP's that are a cover for sex (yes, a HJ or BJ is considered an illegal act). You can still find places but they are very careful. I have gone to a few places where I've become a regular and you get to know the girls and its not a problem. Sometimes you just need to be patient and get a feel for the different places. As you read here there are some definate places that will. However, you do take a risk of getting caught and I believe that if cought you must appear in court and probably pay a fine, but no jail. I have also heard that you may have to regester as a sex offender, but I'm not sure if thats true.
Welcome to the OC

In California, Prostitution is a crime that falls under the category of Disorderly Conduct. Solicitation for Prostitution (also known as either Solicitation or Prostitution) is charged as a misdemeanor, while Pandering or Pimping is charged as a felony. According to the California Penal Code, Solicitation, Prostitution, Pandering, and Loitering are defined as follows:

* Solicitation - Also known as Solicitation for Prostitution, the act of directing or asking someone to exchange money for sexual activity is defined under Section 647( of the California Penal Code.
* Prostitution - The act of exchanging money for sexual activity is known as Prostitution and defined under Section 653.20(a) of the California Penal Code.
* Pandering - The crime committed by a "pimp", Pandering is defined under Section 266(i) of the California Penal Code and is best described as:
o Solicitation of customers for prostitution services
o Recruitment of prostitutes for hire
* Loitering - Defined under Section 653.20(c) of the California Penal Code, Loitering means to linger without a lawful reason for the purpose of committing a crime or engaging in prostitution. Loitering is a "non-priorable" and lesser charge crime which means it is not subject to Jail Enhancement Penalties.

In California, both the prostitute and the "John" are aggressively prosecuted for prostitution and solicitation. Innocent citizens with no criminal history can find themselves accused and arrested of one of these crimes simply by being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

PENALTIES
The range of penalties for a Solicitation or Prostitution charge can include:

* Community Service
* County Jail
* Probation
* AIDS Testing
* Fines
* Counseling (court-enforced)
* Cal Trans (physical labor)
* Loss of employment for those with licenses or government / security clearances
* Jail Enhancements: Additional jail time for defendants with prior related criminal charges

HJ and BJ count.

Unless a cop can testify under oath that he witnessed you giving the girl money in exchange for sex, any half decent mall lawyer can get you off the charges or at the very least plea it to a fine. The usual defense is "We are consenting adults who became intimate and I'm just a generous tipper." or "Just because the other girl is a hooker doesn't me my masseuse is one nor does that mean I was receiving those services."
